Media intelligence operator

As CEO of Universal Information Services, a media monitoring firm founded in 1908 and headquartered in Omaha, Todd led the company through digital transformation. INDUSTRY LEADERSHIP AND CURRENT WORK

A career built on doing the work, not describing it

Operating experience Todd Murphy led Universal Information Services, a media monitoring firm founded in 1908 and headquartered in Omaha, for more than two decades. During his tenure as CEO, he led the company through digital transformation, developed the first multi-channel broadcast monitoring software, expanded comparative analytics methodologies, and completed eight acquisitions. The company was acquired by Truescope in 2023, a transaction that reflected the value of the operating infrastructure and market position built over those years. Following the acquisition, Todd served as the first President of Truescope North America, launching and scaling the U.S. division of a global media intelligence platform from the ground up. He built the team, the client base, and the operating infrastructure, serving enterprise, government, non-profit, and agency clients across the U.S. market. Earlier in his career, Todd founded EvotechPro LLC, designing and deploying custom computing systems for digital video recording and media indexing. Key customers included the U.S. Department of Defense and media monitoring industry partners. Entrepreneurship and current initiatives Todd founded GoScale Partners LLC, his fractional COO and Growth Architecture practice. Through GoScale Partners, he serves as an embedded operating executive for founder-led and growth-stage companies, stepping into organizations to build the systems, processes, and accountability structures that make scaling possible. The practice is built on the principle that most growing companies do not need another advisor. They need someone who will do the work. He is also the co-creator of Vettara, a SaaS platform for founder assessment and investor research that launched in July 2026. Developed with Brogan Bishop, Vettara enables founders to evaluate the readiness of their concepts while building a structured database that allows investors to conduct founder research. It is a tool for evaluation, not a ranking system. Media intelligence leadership Todd currently serves as President of FIBEP, the global trade association for the media intelligence industry. In this role, he founded the Media Rights Trust Initiative (MRTI), a global framework bringing together publishers, broadcasters, media monitors, rights management organizations, and end users to develop fair, reasonable, and sustainable content licensing models. He is an active participant in AMEC, the International Association for Measurement and Evaluation of Communication, and has contributed to industry conversations on measurement standards and media analysis frameworks. His current client work includes serving as Executive Director of Global Media Insights at Infoesearch, a GoScale Partners consulting engagement where he leads human-in-command media analysis that leverages AI, machine learning, and automation. Todd developed the MIPO and MAPO methodologies — Media Intelligence Process Optimization and Media Analysis Process Optimization — to help media monitoring and PR measurement firms systematically improve speed, accuracy, and profitability. These frameworks draw on his decades of direct operating experience running monitoring operations and managing analyst teams. Board and advisory experience Todd serves on advisory boards for growth-stage companies, providing outside perspective and strategic counsel without the legal and structural obligations of fiduciary governance. His advisory work is confidential, flexible, and focused on the specific decisions the leadership team is facing. Unlike a fiduciary board director, an advisory board member does not vote, does not carry governance liability, and does not have formal authority over the organization. The role is to improve the quality of decisions, not to make them. He has previously served as a fiduciary board member for organizations including the Omaha Press Club (Past President), the Rotary Club of Omaha (Past President), and the Epilepsy Foundation of Nebraska (Past Board President). Public speaking Todd delivers keynotes, panels, and workshops at industry conferences, academic symposiums, and corporate events. His talks draw from real operating experience and address the intersection of artificial intelligence, media intelligence, growth strategy, and the future of work. Recent appearances include AEJMC, the AMEC Summit, the UNO Future of Work Symposium, and the Media InSite Caribbean 15th Anniversary Conference. Professional philosophy Todd describes his role simply: he is an operator who happens to consult. He does not use pitch decks or generic playbooks. Every engagement begins with an honest assessment of where things actually stand and a clear path to where they need to go. His work is grounded in evidence, shaped by experience, and delivered without jargon. He holds a BA in Communications with an emphasis in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His work has been featured in the New York Times, Omaha World-Herald, Midlands Business Journal, Omaha Magazine, and industry publications. Culture and leadership Todd's leadership philosophy treats culture as an operational variable, not a soft concept. Culture is shaped by who you hire, how you promote, what you reward, what you tolerate, and how decisions get made. Those are operational choices. When they are left to chance, culture drifts. When they are designed intentionally, culture becomes a competitive advantage. He lives in Omaha, Nebraska with his wife Stephanie and is the father of two adult children. An avid vinyl record collector, global traveler, and lifelong learner, he brings a human touch to every transformation he leads. How to reach Todd Todd responds personally to inquiries. These advisory relationships are distinct from Todd's fiduciary board service and from his fractional COO engagements through GoScale Partners.
